Bambanani Shopping Centre needed a distinctive brand identity and comprehensive wayfinding system that would resonate with the local Diepsloot community while being functional and easy to navigate. The design needed to work across various applications from exterior signage to interior wayfinding elements, creating a cohesive experience for shoppers.
The challenge was to create a brand that felt both modern and accessible, with signage that would be intuitive for all visitors regardless of literacy levels or language preferences in this diverse community.
We developed a vibrant, contemporary brand identity for Bambanani Shopping Centre that incorporated elements reflecting the community it serves. The logo design used a bold, modern typeface with a distinctive color palette that stood out in the urban environment.
The wayfinding system was designed with simplicity and clarity in mind, using a combination of typography, iconography and color coding to help visitors navigate the mall intuitively. The signage elements were designed to be durable and maintainable in a high-traffic retail environment while maintaining visual appeal.
Working closely with Boogertman & Partners, we ensured that the brand and wayfinding elements integrated seamlessly with the architectural design of the shopping centre, creating a unified experience for visitors from approach to departure.
